Automation and systems integration

For teams copying data between systems by hand, or depending on integrations that break without anyone noticing.

Quoted as a fixed price after the intro call.

Signs you need this

  • Someone on your team spends hours a week moving data between systems by hand.
  • A partner, vendor, or regulator needs data from you on a schedule, in their format.
  • An integration fails quietly, and you find out from a customer.
  • You’re adding a platform, like a CRM, billing, or messaging tool, and it has to work with what you already have.
  • Emails, reports, or notifications are generated five different ways across your product.

What I do

  • API integrations

Connect your product to payment, CRM, messaging, analytics, and partner APIs, with retries, logging, and alerts when something fails.

  • Data pipelines and exports

Scheduled jobs that transform your data and deliver it in the format partners and regulators require, on deadline.

  • Workflow automation

Replace manual, repetitive steps with automated ones, using custom code or low-code tools where they’re the better fit.

  • Platform migrations

Move data and workflows from one vendor to another without losing history or breaking what depends on them.

From my work

  • CleverTap to Braze

Integrated CleverTap, Braze, and PostHog into Atmosfy’s platform, then migrated Atmosfy’s customer messaging from CleverTap to Braze.

  • AWS to Cloudinary

Moved Atmosfy’s video processing from AWS to Cloudinary, negotiating the partnership instead of hiring a dedicated specialist and eliminating a significant recurring expense.

  • 500K+records per export

Built a home insurance platform’s claims export pipeline, delivering to Medicare and other data partners on deadline.

How it works

Fixed quote per integration

Most integrations are well defined once we map the systems and data involved, so I quote a fixed price for each one. No open-ended hourly billing.

We start by mapping the systems, the data, and where things can fail. I build and test against sandbox or staging environments first, then roll out with logging and alerts, so problems surface before your customers notice. Most of the build happens in evenings and on weekends, with a check-in or two each week.

Common questions

What systems can you integrate?

Anything with an API, a database, or a file export: billing and payments, CRMs, messaging platforms like Braze and CleverTap, analytics tools like PostHog, media services like Cloudinary, and industry partners.

What happens when a third-party service changes or goes down?

Integrations are built with retries, logging, and alerts, so failures are caught and visible instead of silent. I also document how everything connects, so your team can maintain it.

Do you use no-code tools like Zapier or Power Automate?

When they’re the right fit, yes. For anything business-critical or high-volume, custom code is usually more reliable and cheaper to run over time.

When are you available?

Phoenix Powered is my independent practice, so I do most hands-on work in evenings and on weekends and schedule calls during the business day, usually one or two a week. That works well for building, reviews, and advisory work. If you need someone in meetings all day, I’ll say so on the intro call rather than overpromise.

Other ways I can help

  • Fractional CTO or tech lead

Roadmap, architecture, hiring plans, and investor conversations, for a set number of hours each week. I mentor as I go, so your team keeps improving after I step back.

  • Rescue and repair

For MVPs that stalled and platforms that keep breaking. I find what’s wrong and fix it, like an outreach flaw I found and fixed in a week that was leaking revenue.

  • Architecture and security reviews

A focused look at your architecture, code, and security, with a prioritized list of what to fix and why.

  • Build your platform

From the first line of code to launch: architecture, backend, web and mobile apps, and the cloud they run on. It’s what I did for Atmosfy.

  • Stubborn bug fixes

The bug that keeps coming back, or that nobody can reproduce. I track it to the root cause, and you only pay for the time I use.
